Position summary

The Commis di cucina provides essential support across several hotel areas, such as the kitchen, food & beverage outlets and the employee dining room. This role covers cleaning duties and basic food preparation tasks to ensure smooth operation of service areas. Responsibilities include preparing clean linen and spotless dining ware for guests, operating and maintaining cleaning equipment (for example dishwashing machines and hand wash stations), and transporting dishware and related items throughout the property.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and basic kitchen preparation tasks to support multiple departments.
• Operate and take care of cleaning and dishwashing equipment.
• Ensure linen and dining ware are clean and presented to company standards.
• Transport dishware and other kitchen items across the hotel as required.
• Comply with all company safety and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Complete required safety trainings and any necessary certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; protect company assets and preserve confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests following company standards and communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support the team to meet common goals; perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds (≈11 kg) without assistance.

• Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Related work experience: None required.
• Supervisory experience: None required.
• License or certification: None required.
