Position summary

Prepare and serve beverages to guests following specified recipes and measuring systems, issue and open wine and champagne bottles, and create fresh garnishes. Maintain the bar area, bar unit and equipment in clean and working condition, stock ice, glassware and consumables, and transport supplies from storage to the bar set-up area. Remove and wash soiled glassware and clear soiled items from bar tops and tables.

Cash and closing duties: process all payment methods, count and secure the bank at the end of the shift, complete the required cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, deliver receipts as required, and perform all designated closing activities (store reusable goods, clean and return equipment, lock refrigerators and doors, complete daily cleaning checklists).

Safety and security

Follow all company safety and security procedures, report accidents or unsafe conditions to management immediately, wear appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary, use correct lifting techniques, and follow property-specific emergency procedures (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies).

Policies and procedures

Adhere to company and department policies; protect guest and coworker privacy and proprietary information; ensure uniform, name tag and personal appearance are clean, hygienic and professional; safeguard company tools, equipment and assets.

Guest relations

• Welcome and acknowledge every guest with a friendly greeting and, when possible, by name.
• Listen actively and respond positively to guest questions, concerns and requests using brand procedures to resolve issues and build trust.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, assist individuals with disabilities within guidelines, engage guests in conversation about their stay and local offerings, and thank guests on departure.

Communication and teamwork

Speak clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues, develop and maintain positive working relationships, support teammates to achieve common goals, and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.

Quality assurance and additional duties

Comply with quality expectations and standards, assist other departments when needed, and perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Physical requirements

• Stand, sit or walk for extended periods or an entire shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and stooping.

Food & beverage and bartending specifics

• Follow applicable laws and property procedures for responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain a clean work area and practice “clean-as-you-go.”
• Requisition and restock bottles and supplies as required, ensuring authorisations for additional payments when necessary.
• Document and report incidents or accidents to management and Loss Prevention during the shift or event.

Cash handling and wine service

Follow property control and cash handling procedures (e.g., blind drops), ensure accuracy of assigned bank and obtain change for expected business, transport the bank securely, and issue, open and serve wine/champagne to guarantee guest satisfaction.
