Villa Igiea re-opened in May 2021 after an extensive refurbishment, blending contemporary design with its original Liberty spirit. The property offers 100 rooms and suites overlooking lush gardens and the Gulf of Palermo, a culinary offer led by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, a dedicated wellness centre, a well-equipped fitness room and a sea-front swimming pool reserved for guests.

Main purpose: The Housekeeping Manager acts as an Ambassador of Excellence, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and guest care. The role leads the housekeeping and laundry teams for the resort and the hotel's 20 private villas, ensuring compliance with service standards and sanitation protocols and overseeing the department budget.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Manage the Housekeeping and Laundry departments, ensuring organised operations and effective guest service delivery in line with Rocco Forte and LQA standards.
  • Supervise the team’s daily work, personally checking a sample of rooms, public areas and assigned back-of-house zones each day.
  • Handle recruitment, development and performance appraisals for Housekeeping and Laundry staff and supervise staff rota planning.
  • Develop personalised relationships with guests, attend to special housekeeping requests and share guest preferences with relevant departments.
  • Be accountable for supplies, par-stock levels and equipment assigned to the department; organise team work to meet inventory and requisition deadlines.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Maintenance department for routine maintenance requests and report structural or equipment improvements to the Room Division Manager to sustain housekeeping excellence.
  • Lead the department to achieve financial, quality and people objectives and propose ideas to improve profit and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.

Other requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping management (e.g., Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Director) in large resorts/hotels.
  • Proven leadership, attention to detail and strong commitment to customer service.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Preferable evidence of continuous self-development (specialised courses, conferences or workshops).
  • PC literate.
