Role overview

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all front office functions that form guests' first impressions, including arrivals and departures, guest enquiries, concierge services and promoting on‑site offers.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Supervise front desk operations throughout your assigned shift to maintain consistently high standards.
  • Ensure the shift team is up to date on hotel services, prices and special promotions, as well as any daily VIPs or events.
  • Inform the team about special events or VIP guests present in the hotel on a given day.
  • Monitor team members’ appearance, standards and performance, focusing on coaching and teamwork.
  • Support revenue generation by encouraging up‑selling and following marketing initiatives.
  • Respond promptly and fully to guest requests, questions and complaints.
  • Maintain a professional and hospitable appearance and atmosphere at the front desk.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in front office roles within hotels, leisure or retail.
  • Good commercial awareness with proven sales or up‑selling capability.
  • Calm and organized approach with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Strong supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering high levels of guest service.
  • Good knowledge of Italian and English.
  • Beneficial: a relevant supervisory/management certificate, diploma or degree.

Requisiti

Front Office experience in hotels, leisure or retail; strong commercial awareness and sales ability; calm, organized work ethic with ability to prioritise; excellent supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills; passion for guest service; good knowledge of Italian and English. A supervisory/management certificate or degree is advantageous.
