The Gritti Palace, part of Marriott International’s Luxury Collection, is recruiting a Commis de Bar. The role reports to the Bar Manager and joins a dedicated team of bartending professionals focused on high-quality service.
Employment type: Seasonal, full-time contract — 40 hours per week, 5 working days, 2 consecutive days off. Period: June – October 2026.
The successful candidate will work in an environment of refined art and Venetian style, serving an international and discerning clientele at events such as the Biennale, Carnival and the Venice Film Festival.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests at the bar and support service at tables.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and respect brand identity guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the bar menu and seasonal beverages.
- Prepare garnishes and small accompaniments; stock ice, glassware and disposables.
- Set up, clean and maintain the bar area to professional standards.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
Physical and safety requirements
The role requires the ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs, and to stand, sit or walk for extended periods. A professional appearance in a clean uniform is required. Successful candidates will complete required safety training and certification prior to starting.
Who we are looking for
- Legal right to work in Italy (valid work permit for a full-time 40 hours/week role).
- Fluent in English and Italian, both spoken and written.
- Understanding of luxury F&B operations; prior experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Warm, guest-oriented demeanour and a strong passion for luxury bartending.
- Team-player attitude, reliability, motivation and a positive, outgoing personality.

Requisiti
