We are looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to join the Plant Management Team of a multinational company in the aerospace sector. You will lead the site’s facilities and maintenance organization to guarantee safe, compliant and reliable operations of buildings, utilities, production equipment and site services while controlling operational costs.

Responsibilities

  • Safety & compliance: ensure compliance with local, national and corporate EHS rules; manage permits, inspections and corrective actions; promote LOTO, machine guarding, confined-space and electrical safety; lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses and ensure execution of regulatory maintenance.
  • Maintenance strategy: design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs (PM/PdM) to reduce failures; define critical spares strategy; manage asset lifecycle planning and targets for equipment availability and uptime.
  • Facilities management: supervise building and grounds maintenance, utilities (HVAC, compressed air, water, steam, power) and site services including janitorial, landscaping, waste/recycling, snow removal and space planning.
  • Utilities & energy: monitor and optimise energy consumption; lead cost-reduction, demand-management and sustainability initiatives; coordinate safe shutdowns/start-ups and drive energy-saving projects.
  • Work planning & execution: lead planning and scheduling (weekly plans, backlog control); manage work orders, PM compliance and execution quality; ensure effective use of CMMS.
  • Budget & cost control: forecast and manage OPEX/CAPEX (OCPH & CAR), track expenditure versus plan, prepare business cases for upgrades and support vendor contract negotiations to optimise maintenance cost per asset while preserving availability.
  • Contractors & vendors: source, qualify and manage service providers; enforce safety and quality standards, coordinate permits and supervision and ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Continuous improvement: apply FLIGHT DECK tools (5S, TPM, standard work, visual management, Kaizen) to reduce downtime, improve MTBF/MTTR and adherence to schedule; implement availability engineering practices and RCA.
  • Asset data & documentation: maintain accurate asset registry, drawings, SOPs, PM task lists and compliance records; ensure CMMS data integrity and reporting.
  • People leadership: lead and develop the facilities & maintenance team, set goals, coach performance and build technical skills (electrical, mechanical, controls, HVAC) fostering a safety-first, customer-oriented culture.
  • Stakeholder support: collaborate with Operations and Quality on planned outages, new equipment installations, NPI and capacity expansions; communicate status, risks and recovery plans.

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven background in facilities management within a complex plant and a matrix organisation. Solid experience with CMMS (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM), MS Office/Excel, maintenance planning & scheduling and reliability analytics. Familiarity with TPM, Kaizen, RCA, FMEA and condition-based maintenance and demonstrated use of KPIs to drive results. Strong knowledge of Italian safety legislation and local codes and LOTO expertise. This is a managerial role requiring autonomy.

Requisiti

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience; proven facilities management experience in complex plant and matrix organisation; CMMS proficiency; experience with TPM/Kaizen/RCA/FMEA and condition-based maintenance; strong knowledge of Italian safety law and LOTO expertise. Managerial autonomy is required.
