Role overview
The Group Performance Team Lead is a senior role inside the newly created Marketing Centre of Excellence. You will own execution excellence for the group's performance engine—covering Paid Media, SEO/GEO, CRO and Affiliate/Reseller—driving measurable acquisition impact across brands and markets. You will report to the Group Director of Marketing and work closely with Heads of Marketing, Commercial Directors and Team Leads for Activation, Intelligence and Operations.
Key responsibilities
- Performance execution & standards: lead group-wide delivery across Paid Media, SEO/GEO, CRO and Affiliate; develop execution standards, tooling and frameworks; maintain visibility with dashboards and sprint reviews; and ensure budget decisions are data-driven and aligned to performance goals (CAC, ROAS, new customer volume).
- GEO programme leadership: lead a multi-brand AI discovery (GEO) programme running June–November 2026, coordinating Organic Search, Content & Localisation, Intelligence and market brand teams, owning pace, brand relationships and commercial results.
- Test, learn, scale: champion rapid, repeatable experimentation—design tests, review results and scale successful approaches; identify and evaluate emerging channels, formats and technologies.
- Team leadership & development: lead performance managers and specialists across regional pods; set direction via agile sprint planning, bi-weekly and quarterly cycles; coach managers to develop autonomous specialists; and foster cross-channel knowledge sharing.
What success looks like
- Delivery of the GEO programme with measurable commercial impact and a repeatable framework.
- An upskilled Performance team meeting or exceeding targets and operating at consistent execution standards across channels.
- Established, flexible execution standards recognized by brand and market teams as enabling faster, better performance.
Requirements
- Experience: minimum 8+ years in performance marketing with substantial exposure to multi-brand or multi-market delivery; hands-on depth in at least two areas among Paid Media (Search, Social, Programmatic), SEO/GEO, CRO and Affiliate; proven experience building or rebuilding a performance function; agile delivery experience (Scrum, Kanban or Scrumban) is a plus.
- Capabilities: deep understanding of how AI/LLM platforms (AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity) affect organic and paid discovery; strong analytical rigour with attribution models and BI dashboards; ability to diagnose channel issues directly; skill in influencing within a matrix organisation and translating complex data into clear commercial narratives; and a track record of developing managers for long-term capability growth.
- Language: fluent in English and in at least one other European language.
- Right to work: you must be able to prove eligibility to work in the country of application; team.blue cannot provide relocation packages or visa sponsorship.
Ways of working
- Execution-first: stay close to the work, hold high standards for quality and speed.
- Builder mindset: comfortable creating standards and operating in a newly launched Centre of Excellence.
- Collaborative and transparent: share context, flag issues early and follow through.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to create clarity.
