About the role
We operate 24 datacenter facilities worldwide and each location requires dependable, skilled Data Center Technicians (DCTs) who can perform Smart Hands and Remote Hands work to our standards. The calibre of our DCT network is critical to client retention. As the DCT Recruitment Specialist covering the Asia–Pacific region (India, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Oceania), you will build and maintain a world-class pool of technicians in that region. This is not a generic recruiting role: you must understand what makes an excellent datacenter technician and be able to distinguish true hands-on competence from mere resume claims.
You must have direct experience either working as a DCT or managing DCTs and be familiar with the practical tasks and standards used in datacenters, such as structured cabling, cross-connects, hardware installs and decommissions, labeling standards, and hot/cold aisle management.
Key responsibilities
- Source, screen and recruit Data Center Technicians across APAC facilities.
- Conduct technical screening interviews to assess hands-on datacenter skills, not just CV keywords.
- Build and maintain a vetted DCT pool organized by location, skill level, availability and reliability score.
- Verify credentials including certifications, references and work history.
- Create and maintain DCT skill assessments and practical evaluation criteria.
- Coordinate onboarding for new DCTs: facility access, safety protocols and SOP training.
- Track post-deployment performance and create a feedback loop with operations.
- Expand DCT coverage into new markets and facilities within your region.
- Manage relationships with DCT staffing agencies where used.
- Maintain the DCT database with up-to-date availability, skills and performance ratings.
Requirements
- 3+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition or team staffing experience (formal or informal; managing a DCT pool counts).
- Ability to perform technical interviews and evaluate hands-on datacenter skills.
- Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure: structured cabling, server racking, cross-connects, PDUs, environmental monitoring.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Organized and detail-oriented—accurate management of a regional DCT database is required.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, databases or ATS tools to track candidates.
