Context of the position

As part of our international expansion, JD Logistics is building its core operations in the Italian market. This is a greenfield launch that requires founding operational leadership able to create local processes, manage high operational variability and adapt global capabilities to local execution.

Mission & core scope

The role is a hands-on frontline leadership position based on the warehouse floor. You will lead and motivate the reverse shift team focusing on returns intake, inspection, quality grading and system registration so that returned inventory is processed quickly and routed to the appropriate next step to maximise value recovery. You will own the returns processing zone, track hourly throughput, fix status mismatches and enforce compliance.

Key expectations & performance targets

• Hourly processing & grading throughput: manage shifts to meet or exceed targets for processed return units while minimising backlogs and station congestion.
• Grading accuracy & quality control: enforce corporate product-grading matrices so operators correctly identify resellable, damaged or warranty items, reducing inventory errors.
• Frontline labor & safety management: allocate operators in real time across unpacking, inspection and repacking stations, monitor attendance and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Clean-floor & sorting discipline: keep the work area highly organized, segregate and palletize processed items and ensure immediate routing to put-away, refurbishment or liquidation.

Position requirements

• Greenfield launch experience: proven background as team leader, returns coordinator or senior supervisor in a high-volume e-commerce reverse logistics centre, returns processing department or technical refurbishment hub during a site launch or major peak.
• Frontline floor mastery: experience leading fast-paced teams (20+ operators) and strong familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), data logging, item disposition codes and RF barcode scanners.
• Language proficiency: professional fluency in English and Italian is mandatory; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
• Operational flexibility: ability to adapt to variable shift patterns and changing priorities as return volumes fluctuate.
