Descrizione della Posizione Lavorativa

At Bending Spoons we aim to build an exceptional, long-term digital company: we buy and operate digital businesses, then transform them to accelerate innovation, improve customer experience and strengthen financial performance. Teams are small, with little hierarchy, high ownership and deep integration of AI to amplify human judgement.

This role sits on the full lifecycle of acquisitions: sourcing opportunities, evaluating businesses, building investment recommendations and supporting deal execution. We’re looking for a highly analytical professional who enjoys switching between rigorous analysis and practical decision-making, and who seeks continuous improvement in how opportunities are found and assessed.

Key responsibilities

  • Discover: identify acquisition targets using market trends, sector research, data analysis and creative sourcing; separate signal from noise and prioritise the most promising opportunities for the pipeline.
  • Analyze: construct financial models, understand value creation levers, and assess growth, risk and long-term performance; translate financial, operational and market inputs into clear investment theses and actionable recommendations.
  • Negotiate: engage with founders and owners, build trust, and manage complex discussions to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes and attractive deal terms.
  • Improve the machine: iterate on sourcing and evaluation processes, study past decisions, identify patterns, challenge assumptions, and leverage AI, automation and proprietary insights to make the acquisition process faster and smarter.

What we look for

  • Reasoning ability: solve complex problems from first principles, structure ideas clearly and attend to the details that matter.
  • Drive: extreme ambition, initiative, tenacity and strong ownership over your work.
  • Team spirit: generous collaboration, support for the best idea, willingness to contribute hands-on, and clear transparency.
  • Proficiency in English: strong reading, writing and speaking skills.

What we offer

  • Small, highly talented and entrepreneurial teams with significant responsibility and autonomy.
  • Exceptional growth opportunities: rapid career progression and the chance to lead high-impact projects early in your career.
  • Competitive pay and equity opportunities. Typical annual compensation examples quoted by location: for candidates with limited experience, ~£85,797 in London and ~€66,065 elsewhere in Europe; for more experienced candidates, ranges are ~£112,189–£250,512 in London and ~€107,837–€188,848 elsewhere in Europe. Exceptional hires may receive packages beyond these ranges. If relocated to Italy, a 50% tax cut may apply.
  • Flexible hours, remote working options, generous learning and training support, top-tier health insurance, a comprehensive relocation package, strong parental support and an annual company retreat.
  • Flexible start dates and the option to begin part-time (e.g., while finishing studies) and transition to full-time.

Selection process

Applications are evaluated on verifiable signals of excellence. All candidates apply through the careers page and, if screened positively, may be asked to complete one or more challenging tests that can take several hours. We set a high bar and make offers only when confident in the fit. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are provided via an accommodation request form.

Before you apply

If you applied previously and were not offered a role, please wait at least one year before reapplying. Bending Spoons is a demanding environment that requires significant commitment but delivers substantial learning and career growth. During the first months we expect you to spend most days in our Milan office to absorb culture and build trust; we will assist with travel and accommodation. After onboarding, work location can be one of our offices or remote from approved countries, subject to agreement at offer stage.

Benefits

  • Equity participation (for permanent hires), competitive salary, generous relocation support and top-of-market health insurance.
  • Flexible working arrangements, unlimited support for learning, parental benefits and yearly company retreats.

Requisiti

Strong analytical skills, experience building financial models and assessing businesses, persuasion and negotiation ability, proficiency in English, and willingness to spend initial months in Milan for onboarding.
