Job Title: Event Sales Executive
Reports to: Director of Sales & Distribution
Overall purpose
The Event Sales Executive is responsible for managing sales opportunities linked to events, turning enquiries into confirmed business and ensuring a smooth handover to operations. The role emphasises building and maintaining client relationships, preparing customised proposals, conducting site inspections and optimising event revenue while adhering to Marriott brand standards. The post also supports forecasting and pipeline management and contributes to commercial strategy through market and competitor insights.

Education & experience
Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a similar role at a comparable property with sizeable rooms and meeting spaces.
Key responsibilities
- Lead management — manage incoming event enquiries, qualify opportunities and respond promptly with accurate information.
- Client relationship development — build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the sales process.
- Proposal & contract creation — prepare tailored proposals, quotations and contracts that meet client needs and hotel guidelines.
- Site inspections — conduct professional site visits to present meeting spaces, F&B options and event capabilities.
- Revenue optimisation — identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across spaces, services and F&B.
- BEO preparation & handover — ensure accurate, timely Banquet Event Orders and clear handovers to Events and Operations teams.
- Cross-department collaboration — work closely with Sales, Banqueting, F&B and Front Office to guarantee seamless event execution.
- Market & competitor analysis — monitor trends, competitor activity and client feedback to support commercial strategy.
- CRM & reporting — keep CRM updated, manage the sales pipeline and support forecasting and reporting activities.
- Brand standards compliance — ensure all communications and proposals reflect Marriott's service and brand guidelines.
Preferred
- Proven ability to always work on behalf of Guests
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- Previous event experience in 4/5-star hotels or MICE environments
- Familiarity with Marriott standards and processes
- Basic understanding of AV equipment and meeting setups
Principal accountabilities
- Handle enquiries, qualify leads and respond accurately and promptly.
- Prepare customised proposals, quotations and contracts aligned to client needs.
- Maintain ongoing client communication to ensure expectations are met.
- Maximise event profitability through upselling across meeting spaces, F&B and services.
- Prepare accurate BEOs and ensure clear handovers to operations.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure flawless event delivery.
- Monitor market and competitor activity to inform strategy.
- Maintain CRM records and support administrative reporting and forecasting.
