About the role

Casa Brera, part of Marriott International’s Luxury Collection, is recruiting an Accounts Receivable professional to join the finance team in the hotel’s pre-opening phase. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the position will help build the finance function from the ground up, aligning local procedures with Marriott policies and supporting the drafting of internal processes. This is a full-time role (5 days a week, 2 days off) with an estimated start in July.

Casa Brera sits near the iconic Teatro alla Scala and expresses Milan’s cultural spirit. The property, reinterpreted by Patricia Urquiola, features a luxury food and beverage offer including a rooftop sky bar with pool, and multiple dining venues. The hotel is a new Luxury Collection opening and will provide an authentic, modern hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Process all invoices with the correct backups promptly and accurately.
  • Coordinate with Reservations, Sales and F&B on disputed or group accounts.
  • Post, reconcile and balance credit card transactions and bank transfers on a daily basis.
  • Ensure correct allocation of credit card payments comparing Opera entries, bank statements and merchant reports.
  • Attend or review group run-downs/meetings before arrivals to confirm groups are billed correctly in the system.
  • Maintain completed credit application forms and check credit references for all A/R accounts.
  • Perform daily follow-up calls for overdue receivables and secure timely payments.
  • Handle account queries and respond to customer questions as needed.

Month-end

  • Prepare month-end journals according to schedules provided by the Assistant DOF and DOF.
  • Support the monthly Profit & Loss preparation to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and submit them for review.

Income Audit

  • Prepare the daily Income Audit pack to standard.
  • Generate and verify the Hotel GRR and share it with department heads.
  • Prepare daily F&B cover journals and any necessary income journal adjustments.
  • Review banquet postings in Opera against each BEO to ensure correct revenue recognition.
  • Test completeness of minor operating department revenues and F&B covers.
  • Review daily petty cash/paid out reports, rebate vouchers and corrections for proper documentation and approvals.
  • Collect Open Check Reports from F&B outlets and verify compliance with procedures.
  • Verify complimentary room processes and check totals of all ledgers for posting accuracy.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports regularly.

Audit & compliance

  • Apply Marriott finance policies and procedures consistently.
  • Support AFC/DOF with Marriott internal audits (ISRA, CSAT, IPPA, etc.).
  • Provide documentation for external auditors in a timely manner.
  • Help monitor and implement corporate and internal policies and procedures as needed.

What you’ll need

  • A warm, people-oriented attitude and a team-first approach.
  • Interest in policies, procedures and systems, with attention to detail and strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • At least intermediate proficiency in both English and Italian (written and spoken).
  • Previous experience in a similar role is a strong advantage.
  • Ideally, technical knowledge of PeopleSoft.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and familiarity with Opera or hotel property systems.

Requisiti

Intermediate English and Italian (written & spoken); previous experience in a similar role preferred; familiarity with PeopleSoft is ideal; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel); strong attention to detail and customer-facing attitude.
