Sontheim Industrie Elektronik is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Rovereto team. The role mixes active software development with direct technical contact with Italian customers in the agricultural and industrial machinery sectors.
Role overview
You will be part of the Italian branch of an international company with nearly thirty years of experience in electronics, automation, diagnostics and connectivity. The Rovereto office is a compact, growing team connected to the German headquarters, so you will have visible local responsibilities while contributing to a structured technical group that delivers solutions for OEMs and industrial clients.
Main responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Windows applications in C#;
- Contribute to Linux-side development in C++;
- Work with XAML on existing and new user interfaces;
- Use AI-assisted coding tools as part of the standard development workflow;
- Visit Italian prospects and customers to support technical discussions and translate customer needs into actionable inputs for the development teams in Germany.
Requirements
The position requires:
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in software development;
- Strong, hands-on C# development for Windows;
- Fluent Italian and fluent English;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with customers and stakeholders.
German is not required.
Preferred
- Experience with C++ development on Linux;
- Practical familiarity with XAML;
- Previous exposure to the agricultural or industrial machinery sector.
Benefits
The position is based in Rovereto with roughly one business trip per month to clients or the German office. Onboarding includes three weeks of training at the German headquarters. The role then moves to a hybrid setup with 1–2 remote days per week. The gross annual salary range is €38,000–€44,000, with clear objective-based progression steps. Holiday entitlement is 26 days per year.
