About the property

Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection is a hilltop Italian retreat in Florence that uniquely offers sweeping views of both the historic city center and the rolling Tuscan hills. The property occupies gracious 16th-century buildings set within terraced Baroque gardens and features 49 guest rooms, 28 suites and 6 grand suites. Dining and event venues include La Gamella (a fine-dining Italian restaurant with The Chef's Table), the playful Bar Bertelli (located in the former principal’s office), the poolside Café Focolare, the original chapel, Sala Dorati, and the theatre Il Teatro. The resort also includes Aelia Spa, developed in partnership with Furtuna Skin, and offers a range of connection-driven experiences that celebrate Florence’s Renaissance heritage.

Role overview

As an Assistant Banqueting Manager, you will help raise events to exceptional standards by ensuring flawless execution and memorable guest experiences. You will work closely with event planners, internal teams and external clients to deliver tailored banquet services while leading and supporting the banquet team.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of banquet events, ensuring all details match guest requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with event planners, guests and internal departments to define event needs and adapt banquet setups accordingly.
  • Supervise banquet staff (servers and support staff) to guarantee smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage logistics including room setup, audio-visual equipment and catering to ensure efficient event flow.
  • Handle issues and respond promptly to guest concerns during events to preserve a positive experience.
  • Support the development and maintenance of banquet service standards, policies and procedures.
  • Lead pre- and post-event meetings to review details, collect feedback and implement improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Polished professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills appropriate for a fast-paced team environment.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) and Italian is listed among required languages; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
