Position summary
Handle all aspects of guest arrival and departure: verify guest identity and form of payment, assign rooms and issue/activate keys, and set up accurate guest accounts according to individual needs. Enter loyalty information into the system and make sure rates correspond to market codes, noting any exceptions. Collect payment before issuing room keys and reconcile or correct billing where necessary.
Financial and reporting duties
Prepare and review daily logs, reports and contingency lists; complete cashier and closing reports. Process all payment types including vouchers and paid-outs, balance and drop receipts, and count and secure the bank at both the start and end of your shift. Obtain manual authorizations when required and follow established Accounting procedures. Inform Loss Prevention/Security of any reported thefts.
Guest service and operations
Provide guests with directions and information about the property; respond to and coordinate guest requests with the appropriate departments and follow up to ensure satisfaction. Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate their service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
Team leadership and company standards
Support management in training, evaluating, counseling, motivating and coaching staff; act as a role model and first contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy. Foster positive working relationships, help the team achieve shared goals and respond appropriately to employee concerns. Adhere to company policies and safety procedures, report accidents or unsafe conditions, complete required safety training and certifications, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance.
Communication and other duties
Use clear and professional language in verbal and written communications; answer telephones with proper etiquette and accurately prepare and review documents. Access and retrieve information using computers and POS systems. Be prepared to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and to move, lift or place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
