Prepare and portion ingredients for cooking, including chopping and storing food items. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables and accurately weigh, measure and mix ingredients. Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes following recipes, quality and presentation standards and the food preparation checklist. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods to ensure proper cooking.
Maintain kitchen standards: monitor food quality during preparation, verify temperatures of appliances and food, set up and break down your work station, serve correct portions onto the appropriate receptacles, and wash and disinfect kitchen surfaces, tables, tools, knives and equipment.
Health, safety and teamwork: comply with all company safety and security policies and report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions to your manager; complete required safety trainings and certifications. Keep a clean, professional uniform and appearance, protect company assets and confidential information, and communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues. Support colleagues to reach common goals and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.
Physical requirements: ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods or a whole shift; reach overhead and below the knees (bending, twisting, stooping); move and lift objects up to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
