Descrizione della Posizione Lavorativa

At Bending Spoons we aim to build an exceptional company: one that serves many customers, grows its people rapidly, and creates sustained shareholder value while upholding strong ethics. We acquire and run digital businesses for the long term, implementing deep transformations to accelerate innovation and improve outcomes. Our organisation is flat, teams are small and highly capable, and we embed AI into daily work so human judgement and machine intelligence complement each other.

This role sits in the Office of the CEO. After a 6–12 month training period (in finance, product, or talent management) you may work directly with the CEO or another executive on top-priority initiatives, or transition into another role in the company depending on your strengths and company needs. Recent graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive high-priority initiatives: lead strategic and operational projects across the company, take ownership of complex programs, coordinate across functions, and ensure excellent execution.
  • Support financial planning and performance: contribute to budgeting, forecasting, business reviews, and analyses to evaluate performance, trade-offs, and decisions.
  • Improve organisational effectiveness: identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and help design systems, workflows, and operating mechanisms that enable scalable performance.
  • Leverage AI and automation: use AI, automation, and better processes to reduce manual work, raise decision quality, and increase operational effectiveness.

What we look for

  • Reasoning ability: solve complex problems from first principles, structure ideas clearly, and attend to the details that matter.
  • Financial rigor: strong technical foundation in finance; comfortable building models, analysing business performance, working with large datasets, and reasoning about budgeting, forecasting, profitability, and investments.
  • Drive: ambitious, initiative-taking, tenacious, and deeply responsible for your work.
  • Team spirit: generous collaborator who supports the best idea and is willing to get hands-on when needed.
  • Proficiency in English: read, write, and speak English fluently.

Selection process

We prioritise verifiable signals of excellence for all candidates. Applications must be submitted through our careers page. If you pass screening, you will be asked to complete one or more challenging tests that may take several hours. We set a high bar and only extend offers when confident in a candidate’s fit. We consider all applicants and provide reasonable accommodations for disabilities via our accommodation request form.

Before you apply

If you previously applied and were not offered a role, wait at least one year before reapplying. Bending Spoons is demanding and requires significant commitment, but it also provides extraordinary learning and career growth. To ramp up quickly, we expect you to spend most days in our Milan office during your first months; we provide generous travel and accommodation support. After onboarding, you may work from another office or remotely from approved countries depending on the offer.

Benefits

  • Talented, entrepreneurial teams: small, autonomous teams with highly capable colleagues.
  • Exceptional growth opportunities: rapid career progression and high-responsibility roles early in your career.
  • Comprehensive benefits: flexible hours, remote working, unlimited learning and training backing, top health insurance, a rich relocation package, generous parental support, and an annual company retreat.
  • Competitive pay & equity: salary depends on location and impact, plus potential equity participation; favourable tax treatment may apply for relocation to Italy.

Requisiti

Recent graduates and early-career professionals encouraged; strong finance background preferred but outstanding candidates from other fields considered; proficiency in English; willingness to spend most days in Milan during initial months.
