Descrizione della Posizione Lavorativa

Location: Rome, Lazio, ItalyFull-time, permanent role under the Food Industry Collective Labour Agreement (CNEL Code E012). The gross salary range is €51,200 – €70,400 per year. The role is part of a global organisation offering eligibility to an annual bonus plan (linked to business results and individual performance) and to the Annual Shares Plan according to company policy.

Function: Customer Strategy and Planning. Scope: Local. This position reports to the UFS Head of Country and is a member of the UFS leadership team.

Job purpose

The Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for converting the business strategy into rigorous commercial execution to deliver profitable growth across channels and customers. The role coordinates end-to-end sales planning, forecasting, pricing and mix strategy, trade investment governance and performance management, ensuring alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Development while supporting the PUSH agenda and enabling the PULL growth model.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the annual commercial planning process and the sales execution framework.
  • Manage S&OP and forecasting to align demand, supply and commercial priorities.
  • Drive Net Revenue Management across pricing, portfolio transformation, mix management, promotional optimisation and trade investment governance.
  • Define and implement customer and channel strategies that maximise profitable growth and ROI.
  • Use sell-out insights to shape customer strategies and improve promotional effectiveness.
  • Run commercial performance reviews to detect growth opportunities, promote ownership and ensure accountability.
  • Enable the sales organisation with advanced analytics, performance dashboards and decision-support tools.
  • Govern commercial investments to ensure disciplined execution and optimal allocation of resources.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment for flawless execution of business priorities.
  • Support innovation and renovation projects through strong commercial activation and execution excellence.
  • Build capabilities and processes to enhance commercial effectiveness, route-to-market performance and customer profitability.

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Trade Marketing Investment (TMI) within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience in forecasting, commercial planning and execution.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills (Power BI, Microsoft Excel) and the ability to turn data into actionable route-to-market recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, able to collaborate with and manage diverse stakeholders and customers.
  • Interest in the Food industry and a results-oriented, collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • Fluency in Italian and English. Please submit your application in English.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Foods, Beverages or Out-of-Home channels.
  • Exposure to sales or distribution channels.
  • Ability to use AI tools or analytical programming.
  • International education or professional experience.
  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field.

Additional information

Tools provided: PC. Limited travel to customer sites is expected. The final compensation and contractual level will be defined based on the candidate’s experience, technical skills and seniority, and in line with internal equity principles.
