Position summary: Operate and supervise laundry and dry‑cleaning equipment, including adding the required chemicals and emptying lint traps. Identify items that are stained or damaged and decide whether they need repair, spot treatment, rewash, or disposal. Inspect articles after washing, drying, or dry‑cleaning and transfer them to clean linen carts.

Key tasks include:

• Set washers and dryers to the appropriate cycles, times and temperatures according to fabric type.
• Add chemicals and carry out spot treatments when necessary.
• Clean lint screens, dry‑cleaning filters and drain traps after each load.
• Fold cleaned items to the designated sizes by hand or using a folding machine and keep accurate records of laundered items.

Safety, standards and teamwork: Follow all company safety and security rules; report accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to your manager and complete required safety training. Adhere to company policies, maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance, protect confidential information and company assets. Build positive working relationships, support colleagues to meet shared goals and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns. Seek and suggest improvements to increase efficiency, quality, safety or cost‑savings.

Physical demands: Visually inspect tools and machines for defects. Be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods or an entire shift; lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 25 pounds without assistance; move through narrow, confined or elevated spaces; work on sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces and use stairs or service ramps; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and stooping.

Other duties: Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by Supervisors.

No high school diploma or G.E.D. required. No prior related work experience required. No supervisory experience required. No license or certification required.
