Descrizione della Posizione Lavorativa

The Chef de Rang is responsible for overseeing service in the dining room, making sure that standards of service, cleanliness and refinement are consistently met, and coordinating the room staff under their supervision. Maintaining a friendly and approachable attitude is essential.

Requirements and skills

  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Ability to manage and supervise wait staff to deliver excellent customer service
  • Gastronomic knowledge and wine service skills
  • Familiarity with serving techniques, table mise en place and rules of etiquette
  • Professional approach to guest service, strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and good observational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team

Experience

Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a Chef de Rang.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate table service and ensure every detail of the guest experience is impeccable.
  • Manage communication between the kitchen and the dining room to ensure each course is flawless in taste and presentation.
  • Prepare and maintain the mise en place of the tables.
  • Explain menu dishes to guests and respond to their questions, recommending dishes and pairings according to preferences and any intolerances.
  • Be accountable for the quality of the commis’ work, the clearing of tables and the serving of food and beverages.
  • Perform standard waiter duties as required: taking orders, carrying and serving dishes.
  • Ensure high levels of service throughout the dining room and respond to special guest needs.

Requisiti

Minimum 3 years experience as Chef de Rang; fluent in Italian and English; gastronomic and oenological knowledge; familiarity with service techniques, table mise en place and etiquette; ability to manage wait staff and ensure high standards of service.
