Eight new EU Careers Student Ambassadors have been appointed to make European career paths more accessible to University students. The ambassadors, chosen from different departments, act as a link between the University and the institutions of the European Union.
These Student Ambassadors are part of a Europe-wide network selected on behalf of EPSO (European Personnel Selection Office), the interinstitutional body that organises recruitment for EU institutions such as the European Parliament and the European Commission, thereby contributing to the development of the European civil service.
The main role of the Ambassadors is to provide guidance to students interested in careers within EU institutions, offering support for interpreting competition notices and answering questions about internships and opportunities.
Key activities include:
- organising events and workshops to explain how to navigate European selection procedures;
- managing social media channels to share information and updates;
- running a peer-to-peer advice desk to give personalised help tailored to each student;
- attending specialised EPSO masterclasses on a monthly basis to remain informed about current opportunities and selection methods.
