Role overview: We are seeking a personable and experienced Operations Manager to join the senior leadership team and support the General Manager. The role oversees the hostel’s daily operations, fosters a motivated team culture, ensures brand standards and policies are adhered to, and guarantees guests have an outstanding stay.

About Generator Venice — Located on the Giudecca waterfront a short vaporetto ride from Piazza San Marco, Generator Venice occupies a converted warehouse that combines historic character with contemporary design. The hostel features mosaic floors, a glass chandelier, a stone fireplace, and public spaces arranged around a bar and café. Rooms offer views over gardens, the Lido, the Grand Canal or San Marco.
Main responsibilities
- Support the General Manager across all departments and act as deputy in their absence.
- Lead, develop and run a regular programme of creative, revenue-driving events and initiatives within the hostel.
- Collaborate with GM and HQ to grow and refine the property’s F&B offerings for internal and external guests, ensuring on-brand and revenue-focused delivery.
- Contribute to achieving the budgeted P&L and seek new commercial revenue streams.
- Control payroll and costs by monitoring market conditions, forecasts and bookings to maximise departmental income.
- Ensure full compliance with local statutory legislation and regulation, particularly health & safety, employment law and fire safety.
- Deliver compliant site-level HR support and cultivate relationships with local influencers and contacts.
- Manage the property atmosphere so social spaces reflect the Generator brand and culture.
- Communicate clearly across the team so everyone understands company goals and is motivated to contribute.
Other reasonable duties as required will also form part of this role.
Person specification
- Essential: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar hospitality operations role.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to engage at all levels.
- Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Commercially minded with a track record of identifying business opportunities.
- Knowledge of local markets and a comprehensive understanding of relevant local legislation.
- Eligibility to work in the EU.

Requisiti
