About Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Collection

Collegio alla Querce is a hilltop Italian retreat in Florence offering panoramic views of the Duomo and the Tuscan hills. The property occupies gracious 16th-century buildings set within terraced Baroque gardens and features multiple dining venues, event spaces (including an original chapel, Sala Dorati, and a theatre), a poolside café and a spa.

Accommodation and venues: the hotel’s accommodation mix and historic fabric are highlighted throughout the property, and it includes a variety of restaurants, a bar and dedicated event areas that host bespoke experiences.

Role overview

As an Assistant Banqueting Manager you will support the delivery of exceptional events by coordinating all aspects of banquet operations, ensuring high standards of service and a flawless guest experience. You will work closely with event planners, guests and internal teams and help supervise the banquet team during events.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee banquet events to ensure every detail matches guest specifications and company standards.
  • Collaborate with event planners, guests and internal departments to define requirements and tailor banquet setups.
  • Supervise banquet staff (servers and support personnel) to guarantee smooth service and excellent guest care.
  • Manage logistics such as room layout, audio‑visual equipment and catering coordination so events run efficiently.
  • Resolve issues on the spot and address guest concerns promptly during events to preserve a positive experience.
  • Support the development and upkeep of banquet service standards, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pre‑event and post‑event briefings to review details, collect feedback and implement improvements.

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance, polished manner and excellent interpersonal skills suited to a fast‑paced team environment.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Italian is also required per the job listing; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
