Descrizione della Posizione Lavorativa
Overview
At Bending Spoons we build and operate digital businesses long-term, combining startup-speed execution with deep operational ownership. We acquire companies and lead substantial transformations to accelerate innovation and improve business performance. We work in small, talented teams and embed AI into how we operate. This role is an opportunity to make a measurable impact and grow rapidly within the company.
Responsibilities
- Support acquisitions: advise the Accounting, Finance and Business Acquisitions teams on cross-border acquisitions, run legal due diligence, draft and negotiate transaction documents and support post-closing integrations.
- Advise on financing and capital: collaborate with Finance on debt and equity financings, investments and on the management of equity plans and instruments.
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts: prepare and review cross-border vendor and customer agreements (confidentiality, consulting, licensing, SaaS and other technology contracts), balancing commercial terms with legal risk.
- Build scalable legal tools: create and maintain templates, playbooks and workflows, including AI-powered processes to support a high-growth organization.
- Monitor regulation: follow legal and regulatory developments proactively and identify opportunities to unlock value and mitigate compliance risk.
Requirements
- Law degree and some professional experience gained at a law firm or as in-house counsel, with exposure to the types of matters described above.
- Proficiency in English: able to read, write and speak fluently.
- Ability to reason from first principles, structure complex problems and pay attention to the details that matter.
What we look for
- Reasoning ability: solve complex problems using sharp, unbiased thinking.
- Drive: high ambition, initiative, tenacity and strong sense of ownership.
- Team spirit: generous collaboration, support for the best idea, reliability, honesty and transparency.
What we offer
- Small, entrepreneurial teams and rapid growth opportunities—early-career Spooners often lead products with very large impact.
- Flexible hours and remote working options, substantial learning and training support, top-tier health insurance and a generous relocation package.
- Competitive pay and access to company equity: typical offers for less experienced candidates are £85,797 in London and €66,065 elsewhere in Europe. For candidates with considerable experience, ranges are typically £112,189–£250,512 in London and €107,837–€188,848 elsewhere in Europe. Compensation depends on location and expected impact and can exceed these ranges for exceptional candidates. Permanent hires may receive part of pay as discounted company equity. Relocating to Italy may include a 50% tax reduction.
Selection process
Applications are evaluated through a standardized screening. If you pass the initial review, you may be asked to complete one or more challenging tests that can take several hours. We hire based on verifiable signals of excellence and do not offer preferential paths beyond what your application shows. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available upon request via the provided form.
Before you apply
If you’ve applied previously without an offer, wait at least one year before reapplying. Bending Spoons is a demanding environment that requires strong commitment, but it also delivers exceptional learning and career acceleration. To onboard rapidly, you will be expected to spend most days in our Milan office during your first months regardless of your long-term location; we provide travel and accommodation support for this period. After onboarding, you may work from one of our offices or remotely from approved countries, subject to offer-stage agreement.
