A challenging opportunity is open for a personable and experienced Operations Manager to join the senior management team and support the General Manager. The role oversees day-to-day running of the property, fosters a strong team culture, upholds brand standards and policies, and ensures guests enjoy an excellent experience.

About Generator Venice: located on the waterfront of Giudecca island, one vaporetto stop from Piazza San Marco, Generator Venice occupies a converted warehouse blending historic features with contemporary design. The hostel includes mosaic floors, a glass chandelier, a stone fireplace and public areas arranged around the bar and café. Rooms look out over the gardens, Lido, Grand Canal or San Marco.

Key responsibilities

• Support the General Manager across all departments and act as deputy in their absence.
• Lead, develop and implement a regular programme of creative, revenue-driving events and initiatives within the hostel.
• Work with the GM and HQ to evolve and expand the property’s F&B offerings for internal and external guests, ensuring efforts are on-brand and revenue-focused.
• Help the team create and deliver the budgeted P&L.
• Control payroll and departmental costs by understanding market conditions, forecasts and bookings to maximise income.
• Seek and evaluate new commercial revenue streams.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, all local statutory legislation and regulations, particularly Health & Safety, employment law and Fire Safety.
• Ensure site-level HR support is delivered and compliant.
• Build relationships with local influencers and maintain a database of useful contacts.
• Manage the property’s atmosphere so social spaces reflect the Generator brand and culture.
• Communicate effectively across the team so everyone understands company goals and is motivated to achieve them.

Person specification

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• Hands-on approach with close attention to detail.
• Commercially minded with a proven ability to spot business opportunities.
• Eligibility to work in the EU is required to be considered for this role.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar hospitality operations role.
• Good knowledge of local markets.

Requisiti

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar hospitality role; eligible to work in the EU; English language required; knowledge of local markets; strong communication, hands-on attitude and commercial awareness.
