As a member of Unilever Food Solutions Italy leadership, the Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for converting strategy into disciplined commercial execution to deliver profitable growth across channels and customers. The role reports to the UFS Head of Country and coordinates sales planning, forecasting, pricing and mix strategy, trade investment governance, promotional effectiveness and performance management.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the annual commercial planning process and run the sales execution framework.
  • Manage the S&OP and forecasting process to align demand, supply and commercial priorities.
  • Drive Net Revenue Management across pricing, portfolio transformation, mix management, promotional optimisation and trade investment governance.
  • Design and implement customer and channel strategies to maximise profitable growth and ROI.
  • Use sell-out insights to shape customer plans and optimise promotions for sustainable profit growth.
  • Conduct commercial performance reviews to identify opportunities, ensure ownership and accountability for results.
  • Enable the sales organisation with advanced analytics, dashboards, insights and decision-support tools.
  • Govern commercial investments to secure disciplined execution and optimal resource allocation.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Development) for flawless execution of priorities.
  • Support innovation and renovation through strong commercial activation and execution excellence.
  • Build capabilities and processes to improve route-to-market performance and customer profitability.

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Trade Marketing Investment (TMI) within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience in forecasting, commercial planning and execution.
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical skills, including experience in Power BI and Microsoft Excel, able to turn data into actionable route-to-market recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interest in the Food industry and a results-oriented, collaborative and inclusive mindset.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Foods, Beverages or Out of Home channels.
  • Exposure to sales or distribution channels.
  • Ability to use AI tools or analytical programming.
  • International study or work experience.
  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field.

Additional information

  • Location: Rome office (Uffici di Roma).
  • Terms: Full-time – Permanent.
  • Collective Labour Agreement: Food Industry (CNEL Code E012).
  • Salary range: 8 ,200

Requisiti

Minimum 5 years in NRM and TMI within FMCG; proven forecasting and commercial planning experience; strong analytical skills (Power BI, Excel); leadership and stakeholder influence; interest in Food industry; fluent Italian and English.
