Overview

vigilius mountain resort is a five-star design hotel located at 1,500 metres above sea level, reachable only by cable car. The property features 41 rooms and suites, holds a Michelin Key, is EarthCheck certified and is a member of Design Hotels™. We are seeking an experienced General Manager (m/f/d) to lead the hotel with warmth, professionalism and an entrepreneurial mindset, working closely with the owner family.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the hotel’s day-to-day operations to ensure smooth, high-quality service.
• Inspire, coach and develop a committed team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Maintain operational excellence while exercising robust financial and business management.
• Preserve the resort’s unique character, design values and connection to nature while driving its continued success.
• Collaborate directly with ownership on strategic decisions and long-term development.

About you

• Several years’ experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager or Resident Manager in an upscale or luxury hotel.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and retain staff.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Excellent business sense and financial acumen, with hands-on operational expertise.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, respectful leadership style.
• An appreciation for design, architecture and high quality standards.
• Fluency in German, Italian and English (spoken and written) is indicated in the profile; additionally the listing specifies that German is required while English and Italian are a plus.
• Right to work in the European Union.
