Global Finance

The Global Finance Department (including Global Procurement and ICT) focuses on continuously improving the Group’s performance and governance, contributing to strategic decisions and defining targets and action plans across the organization.

Role overview

The Accounts Payable Delivery Team Leader (Italy) within the Global Centers Network (GCN) is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of AP operations for Italy, ensuring alignment with global processes, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality outputs. The position blends people leadership, operational oversight and hands-on AP expertise while driving performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

Main responsibilities

  • Operational delivery & control: ensure timely and accurate execution of all AP activities (invoice processing, vendor master data, payment proposals, payments, reconciliations); monitor day-to-day operations, remove bottlenecks to meet SLAs/OLAs and deadlines; manage vendor payments and reimbursements to ensure appropriateness; lead monthly and year-end AP close; prepare monthly AP reports with commentary on long-aging balances; carry out other tasks assigned by the Global Process Owner.
  • Team leadership: lead, coach and develop the AP team, set clear objectives, monitor performance and promote a collaborative, high-performance, service-oriented environment.
  • Process improvement: drive standardization, simplification and automation of AP processes; continuously update policies and procedures to improve efficiency and controls; collaborate with Procurement and stakeholders to optimize the purchase-to-pay cycle.
  • Compliance, risk & audit: ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and local regulations (including Italian VAT); identify and escalate process deviations and risks to the Global Process Owner; support internal and external audits with accurate and timely documentation.

Qualifications & requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in accounting roles.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and strong understanding of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes.
  • Knowledge of Italian tax and regulatory requirements (including VAT) is mandatory.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
