Global Finance

The Global Finance Department (including Global Procurement and ICT) focuses on improving Group performance and governance, supporting strategic decisions across geographies and businesses by defining targets and action plans.

Role summary — Who we are looking for

The Accounts Payable Delivery Team Leader (Italy) within the GCN is accountable for end-to-end delivery of AP operations in Italy, ensuring alignment with global processes, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality outputs. The position combines people leadership, operational oversight and hands-on AP expertise; the leader monitors performance and fosters continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Operational delivery & control: ensure timely and accurate execution of all AP activities (invoice processing, vendor master data, payment proposals, payments and reconciliations); monitor daily operations, remove bottlenecks to meet SLAs/OLAs and deadlines; manage vendor payments and reimbursements to ensure appropriateness; lead the AP team during monthly and year-end close to maintain and close accounts payable accurately and on time; prepare monthly AP reports including commentary on long-aging balances; carry out other tasks assigned by the Line Manager (Global Process Owner).
  • Team leadership: lead, coach and develop the AP team, set clear objectives, monitor performance and promote a collaborative, high-performance, service-oriented environment.
  • Process improvement: drive standardization, simplification and automation of AP processes; continuously improve policies and procedures to boost efficiency and control; collaborate with Procurement and other stakeholders to optimize the purchase-to-pay cycle.
  • Compliance, risk & audit: ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and local regulations (including Italian VAT); proactively identify and escalate process deviations or risks to the Global Process Owner; support internal and external audits with accurate and timely documentation.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Experience: at least 4 years in accounting roles.
  • Technical knowledge: solid understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), end-to-end Accounts Payable processes, Italian tax and regulatory requirements (including VAT); experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4); advanced MS Excel and Office skills.
  • Languages: fluent in English and Italian.
  • Behavioural skills: strong people management and leadership abilities, analytical and structured problem-solving mindset, high attention to detail and control awareness, customer-oriented with effective stakeholder management, ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, trustworthy with high integrity and confidentiality, and strong alignment with company values.

Location

Based in Parma with the expectation to be in the office three times a week.
