The Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC) of the CMCC Foundation is seeking a motivated and organised Junior Project Manager to assist with the operational coordination, communication and dissemination of its European and national research projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Project Manager to support planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting activities, and to promote project visibility and stakeholder engagement.

Role

The Junior Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager and contribute to the full project lifecycle, including pre-award and post-award phases. The role involves supporting proposal preparation, contract compliance, financial monitoring, reporting, dissemination and the organisation of events and outreach activities. The position requires close collaboration with researchers, work package leaders, consortium partners, administrative offices and the CMCC Communication Office. The post is based at the CMCC Lecce office.

Key responsibilities

  • Project management and coordination:
    • Support planning, coordination and monitoring of European and national research projects.
    • Track timelines, milestones, deliverables, deadlines and resource allocation.
    • Support budget monitoring, expenditure tracking and financial reporting.
    • Help prepare project management deliverables, technical and financial documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, institutional and funding rules.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide day-to-day administration.
    • Support project reviews, audits and monitoring activities.
    • Coordinate daily interactions with researchers, internal teams, partners and funders.
    • Contribute to pre-award work such as proposal writing and budget development.
    • Support continuous improvement of ADIC project management processes.
  • Communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement:
    • Support planning and execution of dissemination, communication and engagement activities.
    • Help develop and update project communication tools and online platforms, including websites.
    • Prepare and publish content for project digital channels (news, events, results).
    • Support management of project social media with the Communication Office.
    • Prepare communication materials: presentations, factsheets, newsletters, visuals and posts.
    • Coordinate inputs from researchers and partners to ensure timely dissemination.
    • Support stakeholder mapping, organisation and promotion of events, workshops and webinars.
    • Contribute to public deliverables and collect indicators/evidence for reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with visibility and branding rules of funding programmes.

Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Master's degree in project management, communication, economics, political science, international relations, social or environmental sciences, digital media or a related field.
    • 2–4 years' professional experience in project management/support, communication, dissemination or outreach, preferably in European and/or national research projects.
    • Experience in project administration, reporting, budget monitoring and compliance.
    • Experience in communication and dissemination within research or project-based contexts.
    • Strong organisational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to prepare written and visual materials for varied audiences.
    • Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary international teams; proactive attitude, attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Desirable / Additional assets:
    • Experience with Horizon Europe or previous EU Framework Programmes.
    • Experience in research organisations, universities or innovation centres and in proposal preparation and budgeting.
    • Familiarity with project management, financial reporting and website management tools.
    • Experience managing project websites, online platforms and social media channels; basic graphic design and digital communication skills.
    • Interest in climate science, digital innovation, AI, data science or HPC; knowledge of Italian is an asset.

Duration, compensation & benefits

  • The position will be advertised internally and externally and is based at the CMCC Lecce office.
  • The contract offered is a Coordinated and Continuous Collaboration (Co.Co.Co.), starting as soon as possible, with an initial duration of one year and the possibility of renewal.
  • Gross annual salary: €28,000–€40,000 (final offer depends on experience, seniority and technical skills, assessed with objective and gender-neutral criteria).
  • Welfare package: €2,000 per year.

Requisiti

Master's degree; 2–4 years' experience in project management/support or communication within research projects; experience with project administration, reporting and budget monitoring; excellent English; strong organisational and communication skills; proficiency with MS Office and digital tools. Knowledge of Horizon Europe and Italian is a plus.
