We are looking for a personable and experienced Operations Manager to join the senior leadership team and support the General Manager. This role oversees the day-to-day running of the property, fosters a motivated team culture, ensures compliance with brand standards and policies, and works to deliver excellent guest experiences.

About Generator Venice: Situated on the Giudecca waterfront a short vaporetto ride from Piazza San Marco, Generator Venice occupies a former warehouse that blends historic character with contemporary design. The hostel features mosaic floors, a glass chandelier and a stone fireplace, with public areas arranged around the bar and café. Rooms offer views of gardens, the Lido, the Grand Canal or San Marco.
Key responsibilities
- Support the General Manager across all departments and deputise when required.
- Lead, develop and implement a regular programme of creative, revenue-driving events and initiatives within the hostel.
- Collaborate with GM and HQ to evolve and expand the property’s F&B offerings for both internal and external guests, ensuring on-brand, revenue-focused delivery.
- Contribute to creating and delivering the budgeted P&L.
- Control payroll and departmental costs by monitoring market conditions, forecasts and business on the books to maximise income.
- Be commercially proactive in exploring and developing new revenue streams.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with statutory local legislation and regulation, notably Health & Safety, employment law and Fire Safety.
- Ensure compliant site-level HR support is provided.
- Cultivate relationships with local influencers and build a useful contacts database.
- Manage and shape the property’s atmosphere so social spaces reflect the Generator brand and culture.
- Communicate clearly and appropriately across the organisation so the wider team understands company goals and feels motivated to achieve them.

Personal profile
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Hands-on attitude with strong attention to detail.
- Commercially astute with a proven ability to spot and act on business opportunities.
- You must be eligible to work in the EU to be considered for this role.
Experience required
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within hospitality.
- Good knowledge of the local markets.

Requisiti
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar hospitality role; eligible to work in the EU; English language proficiency; knowledge of local markets.
