Purpose: For a low-cost airline, the Supervisor supports and oversees the safe, cost-effective and timely execution of ground operations in the assigned region, reporting to the Ground Operations Manager.
Main responsibilities include:
- Verify that contracted ground handlers meet the airline’s operational KPIs and report daily to the Ground Operations Manager.
- Provide on-site supervision of all operational areas (passenger handling, ramp, load control, etc.).
- Monitor performance of specific flights and assist to achieve the expected handling quality.
- Prepare reports on station performance in key areas and carry out inspections and daily checks at airports within the assigned region.
- Assist the Ground Operations Manager for airports in the region and perform general administration and reporting tasks.
- Ensure communication from the Airline OCC is received and acted upon.
- Confirm ground handling staff presence and their compliance with procedures; check information displays and support passengers and GH staff during disruptions.
- Provide passenger support regarding welfare services, meal voucher distribution and use, rebooking and hotel arrangements, and lead communications between GH and the airline in special situations (e.g. no available hotels, alternative flights).
- Verify passenger letters and correct distribution of meal vouchers by GH/DCC.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Ground Operations or the supervising Ground Operations Manager.
Contract and working conditions: 12-month temporary contract. Gross monthly salary €1,600. Full-time, shift work also covering Saturdays and Sundays; two days off per week. Application posted on 2026-06-26; offer expiry listed as 2026-07-26 (advert also shows validity until 31-Jul-2026).
Requirements
- Fluent English.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of Excel (and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work non-standard hours, to live and work and travel within Italy and to undertake duty travel abroad.
- Energetic, creative and proactive “can-do” attitude; flexible and diplomatic approach.
- Aviation experience is an advantage; knowledge of NewSkies, AIMS and SITA systems is a plus.
