Berghoferin Fine Hotel & Hideaway *****, a boutique property of 13 suites nestled in a small mountain hamlet at 1,500 m near the Val di Fiemme border in the western Dolomites, is seeking a Chef de Rang for the coming summer season (from mid-June to approximately mid-October), with the possibility to renew for subsequent seasons.
The hotel, remodelled in 2022/2023, combines alpine authenticity with refined luxury and attracts an international, discerning clientele. The food & beverage offering is operated at a high level, centered on a fine-dining restaurant that reflects the property’s overall quality and service vision.
We are looking for a service professional with a refined approach, meticulous attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility and the ambition to progress in a high-end hospitality environment. Previous experience as Chef de Rang in fine-dining settings is required (at least two similar roles preferred).
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for assigned tables/area: fully manage your section, anticipate guest needs and offer personalised recommendations.
- Guest service: welcome guests, take orders and provide professional advice on dishes and beverages; manage special requests and dietary needs.
- Order & timing coordination: liaise seamlessly with kitchen and bar to ensure courses are delivered in correct sequence and timing.
- Service execution: perform food, wine and bar service according to fine-dining standards.
- Mise en place: prepare and maintain tables, side stations and service tools, ensuring cleanliness and correct set-up before, during and after service.
- Team support & guidance: assist junior team members and collaborate with service management to guarantee smooth operations.
- Problem-solving & flexibility: handle guest complaints and unexpected situations gracefully and be ready to cover other duties within a small team.
- Quality & consistency control: monitor service standards, table presentation and guest satisfaction.
- Billing support: prepare or assist with billing when required.
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate shows a refined service mindset, excellent attention to detail, reliability and the drive to grow professionally. Required: experience in the service field, preferably at least two prior roles as Chef de Rang in fine-dining environments.
