Work context and start date: CESVI is an independent Italian humanitarian organisation. The collaboration will start in August 2026. The position may be based at CESVI HQ or performed remotely; it is expected to include approximately 50% of working time on missions to CESVI countries of operation.
Reporting lines and teamwork: The MEAL Junior Officer reports to the MEAL Senior Officer and cooperates with MEAL Regional Advisor(s), country-level MEAL staff and programme teams.
Role purpose and main responsibilities
- Data management & consolidation: support aggregation, cleaning and consolidation of MEAL data from country programmes for organisation-wide reporting.
- Dashboard maintenance: assist in building and updating data-visualisation dashboards (Excel, Power BI) to monitor global indicators and achievements.
- Operational support: help country teams set up basic digital data collection forms (KoBo Toolbox, ODK) and provide first-level troubleshooting of databases.
- Reporting & documentation: review routine country M&E reports to check data completeness and consistency.
- Training assistance: support the Senior MEAL Officer and MEAL&TA Manager in preparing training materials, resources and webinars to build field staff capacity.
Essential requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations or related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience (including internships) in data management, monitoring or evaluation roles, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel for data cleaning and analysis.
- Familiarity or practical experience with mobile data collection tools (KoBo Toolbox or similar such as ODK).
- Basic understanding of Project Cycle Management (PCM) and logical frameworks.
- Availability for frequent travel and field missions.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to foster collaboration.
- High attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken); a second language (Italian, French, Spanish or Arabic) is highly desirable.
- Problem-solving skills, initiative and resilience; ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines.

Benefits
- Contract duration: from August to 31 December 2026, with possibility of extension.
- Salary: €2,200 - €2,400 gross per month.
