Job purpose
The Commercial Operations Manager is a key leadership role within Unilever Food Solutions Italy charged with turning business strategy into disciplined commercial execution to deliver profitable growth across channels and customers. Reporting to the UFS Head of Country, this role coordinates the commercial agenda and leads end‑to‑end sales planning, forecasting, pricing & mix strategy, trade investment governance, promotional effectiveness, customer planning and performance management. It sits on the UFS leadership team to ensure alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Development while driving the PUSH agenda and supporting the roll‑out of the PULL growth model.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the annual commercial planning process and the sales execution framework.
- Own S&OP and forecasting, ensuring demand, supply and commercial priorities are aligned.
- Drive Net Revenue Management across pricing, portfolio transformation, mix management, promotional optimisation and trade investment governance.
- Define and implement customer and channel strategies to maximise profitable growth and ROI.
- Use sell‑out insights to shape customer plans, refine promotions and support sustainable profitable growth.
- Lead commercial performance reviews, identify growth opportunities and ensure ownership and accountability for results.
- Enable the sales organisation through advanced analytics, dashboards, business insights and decision‑support tools.
- Govern commercial investments to secure disciplined execution and optimal resource allocation.
- Foster cross‑functional alignment to ensure flawless execution of business priorities.
- Support innovation and renovation programs with strong commercial activation and execution excellence.
- Build capabilities and processes to enhance commercial effectiveness, route‑to‑market performance and customer profitability.
Key requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Trade Marketing Investment (TMI) within the FMCG industry.
- Proven experience in forecasting, commercial planning and execution.
- Data‑driven mindset with strong analytical skills (Power BI, Microsoft Excel) and the ability to convert data into actionable route‑to‑market recommendations.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills; proven ability to collaborate with and manage diverse stakeholders and customers.
- Interest in the Food industry.
- Results‑oriented approach combined with a collaborative and inclusive style.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in Foods, Beverages or Out‑of‑Home channels.
- Exposure to sales or distribution channels.
- Familiarity with AI tools or analytical programming.
- International academic or professional experience.
- Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field.
Additional information
Terms & conditions: Full‑time – Permanent. Function: Customer Strategy and Planning. Scope: Local. Location: Rome offices. Collective Labour Agreement: Food Industry (CNEL Code E012). Salary range: €51,200 – €70,400 gross per year.
Tools provided: PC. Limited travel to customers is expected.
The compensation and contractual level will be defined based on the candidate’s experience, technical skills and seniority and aligned with internal equity principles.

Requisiti
Minimum 5 years in NRM and TMI within FMCG; proven forecasting and commercial planning experience; strong analytical skills in Power BI and Excel; leadership and stakeholder management; fluency in Italian and English; interest in Food industry.
