Position: Culinary Coordinator Intern – Kitchen Department. Reports to: Executive Chef.
This internship places the trainee within the Kitchen Department to acquire a broad understanding of how the department is managed. The role combines administrative, operational and HR-support activities to give a complete overview of kitchen management.
Basic requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required. Excellent command of the English language is essential. A specialization course or a Master’s degree is considered a plus.
Key responsibilities
- Work on menu engineering and optimisation.
- Carry out food cost analysis and evaluation.
- Prepare weekly schedules for the kitchen and stewarding teams.
- Support kitchen staff management, coordinating duties and planning holidays.
- Manage departmental correspondence and assist in organising the Executive Chef’s diary and commitments.
- Collaborate with Human Resources in the recruitment and selection process for kitchen positions.
- Assist the Executive Chef during candidate interviews.
- Support HR in arranging training and development initiatives.
- Create and implement a database management system for kitchen employees.
During the internship the trainee will develop a varied skill set, learning to be proactive, efficient and responsive to department needs, including handling last-minute requests. The experience will strengthen organisational, coordination and problem-solving capabilities.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
