Location: Rome office. Contract: Full-time, permanent (Food Industry collective agreement - CNEL Code E012). Salary range: €51,200 – €70,400 gross per year. Eligible for the annual bonus plan and the Annual Shares Plan in line with company policy.
Role purpose
The Commercial Operations Manager within Unilever Food Solutions Italy is a key leadership role responsible for converting business strategy into rigorous commercial execution to achieve profitable growth across channels and customers. Reporting to the UFS Head of Country, the role coordinates the commercial agenda end-to-end, covering sales planning, forecasting, pricing and mix, trade investment governance, promotional effectiveness, customer planning and performance management. The position is part of the UFS leadership team and ensures alignment between Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Development while driving the PUSH agenda and enabling the PULL growth model.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the annual commercial planning process and the sales execution framework.
- Own S&OP and forecasting to align demand, supply and commercial priorities.
- Drive Net Revenue Management across pricing, portfolio transformation, mix management, promotional optimisation and trade investment governance.
- Develop and implement customer and channel strategies to maximise profitable growth and ROI.
- Use sell-out insights to shape customer strategies, refine promotions and support sustainable profitable growth.
- Lead commercial performance reviews to spot growth opportunities, foster ownership and ensure accountability.
- Enable the sales organisation with advanced analytics, performance dashboards and decision-support tools.
- Govern commercial investments to secure disciplined execution and optimal resource allocation.
- Drive cross-functional alignment for flawless execution of business priorities and to accelerate growth.
- Support innovation and renovation programmes through strong commercial activation and execution excellence.
- Build capabilities and processes to enhance commercial effectiveness, route-to-market performance and customer profitability.
Key requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Trade Marketing Investment (TMI) within the FMCG sector.
- Proven experience in forecasting, commercial planning and execution.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills (Power BI, Microsoft Excel) and the ability to convert data into actionable route-to-market recommendations.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with experience managing diverse stakeholders and customers.
- Interest in the food industry and a results-oriented, collaborative approach.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in Foods, Beverages or Out-of-Home channels.
- Exposure to sales or distribution channels.
- Ability to use AI tools or analytical programming (preferred).
- International education or work experience.
- Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related fields.

Requisiti
Minimum 5 years in Net Revenue Management and Trade Marketing Investment within FMCG; proven forecasting, commercial planning and execution experience; strong analytical skills (Power BI, Excel); leadership and stakeholder management; interest in Food industry; fluency in Italian and English.
