Hiring: We are seeking an experienced Network & Security Operations Specialist to support and enhance enterprise network and security infrastructures across both legacy and SDN environments. This role is offered as a freelance, 100% remote engagement and requires candidates to be based in Italy (no sponsorship available).
Role overview: You will oversee the daily operation of network and security platforms, manage incidents, assist cybersecurity efforts and work continuously to improve infrastructure reliability to ensure business continuity.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain network and firewall infrastructure across legacy and SDN environments.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, routing and security issues.
- Manage and optimize firewall rules, policies and routing (experience with Check Point and F5).
- Handle incidents, changes and service requests in production environments.
- Monitor network performance and contribute to capacity planning activities.
- Support cybersecurity operations and vulnerability analysis.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation (approximately 1 week per month).
Required skills & experience:
- Proven experience in network and security infrastructure operations.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Check Point and F5 firewalls.
- Solid knowledge of Layer 3 routing (Cisco).
- Experience managing incidents across network, security and VPC environments.
- Demonstrated experience in firewall policy cleanup and optimization.
