Descrizione della Posizione Lavorativa

The Oilseeds Product Manager – EMEA/APAC is responsible for product marketing, technical positioning, life-cycle management, performance analysis, concept development and portfolio optimisation for sunflower and winter oilseed rape. The role also supports licensing readiness, product selection, partner technical enablement and documentation, integrating Research outputs, field evidence, licensee and farmer needs, agronomic fit, competitor intelligence and commercial strategy into clear product decisions and launch plans that drive partner confidence and profitable growth across EMEA/APAC.

Product Strategy & Product Marketing

Support the Regional Portfolio Leader to build the regional oilseeds product strategy by converting crop strategy, customer requirements, agronomy, market segmentation and competitive dynamics into prioritized product actions. Define product positioning by crop, maturity, technical segment, geography, growing environment, farming system, customer segment and end-use, with emphasis on optimal out-licensing portfolio offers. Create compelling value propositions, product narratives, technical claims and points of differentiation to enable country and category marketing, launches, sales tools, pricing and documentation.

Product Life-Cycle Management

Lead life-cycle recommendations from concept through launch, growth, maturity and phase-out; assign product roles (launch, growth driver, leader, tactical, niche, replacement, phase-out). Recommend advancement, expansion, restriction, maintenance or discontinuation based on performance, market fit, profitability, supply feasibility and strategy. Collaborate with Portfolio, Demand Management, Supply Chain and Out-Licensing Marketing on replacement plans, portfolio simplification, production impacts, inventory and market protection.

Product Performance & Agronomy Expertise

Develop in-depth knowledge of product performance across countries, environments, farming systems and customer segments. Use Research data, pre-commercial small plots, DEMO trials, commercial results and stakeholder feedback to identify strengths, risks, best-fit environments and situations to avoid. Serve as the regional agronomy reference for sunflower and winter oilseed rape, offering practical guidance on management, adaptation, planting windows, maturity fit, disease profiles, stress tolerance, harvest timing and end-use.

Trials, Data Valorization & Field Evidence

Support design, prioritisation and interpretation of regional and country trial networks with Research and Agronomy so trials produce decision-useful information for advancement, positioning, launch, licensing and life-cycle choices. Convert trial data into product insights, technical presentations, decision aids, crop guides, commercial tools and sales messages that increase farmer and partner confidence. Coordinate and attend pre-commercial small plot tours, field days, product reviews, crop tours and customer agronomy events; support digital trial and performance tools.

Product Positioning, Concepts & Research Alignment

Lead regional product concept and positioning documents describing target geography, maturity, agronomic profile, stress tolerance, disease package, quality expectations, trait needs, end-use, management system and commercial potential. Work closely with Research to align breeding priorities to market needs and future portfolio gaps; provide structured feedback from trials, commercial performance, claims, field observations and competitive benchmarks. Ensure successful launches through clear storytelling, targeted technical arguments, field evidence and practical sales support adapted to local markets.

Licensing Portfolio Strategy & Governance

Support the Regional Licensing Leader on licensing strategy, product selection, technical fit, partner readiness and value creation via gap-filling, market access, tactical defence, second-brand development, local partner use or life-cycle extension. Identify products suitable for licensing, second-brand use or restricted markets and validate technical fit by geography, maturity, agronomy, customer segment and partner capability. Ensure licensed products have clear positioning, documentation, agronomic guidance, restrictions, brand rules and performance evidence; review partner performance and recommend corrective actions or phase-out plans where needed.

Training, Knowledge Transfer & Cross-Functional Leadership

Design practical training on positioning, agronomy, performance, differentiation, licensing readiness and technical sales arguments for sales teams, promoters, country marketing, agronomy teams and partners. Produce and distribute product guides, crop insights, positioning sheets, launch toolkits, technical brochures, decision aids and customer- and partner-facing documentation. Collaborate with Research, Agronomy, Portfolio Leaders, Regional Marketing, Sales Effectiveness, Supply Chain, Demand Management, Quality, Field Seed Production, Country teams and Licensing to challenge assumptions and enable fact-based product decisions.

What This Role Is

A combined product marketing, technical product, commercial agronomy and licensing portfolio leadership role connecting Research, Agronomy, Marketing, Licensing and Commercial execution. Ownership of product positioning, concepts, life-cycle recommendations, performance interpretation, agronomic guidance and licensing readiness. Turning field evidence into simple, market- and partner-facing guidance grounded in farmer and licensee needs, agronomic fit and business value.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Breeding, Agricultural Engineering, Agrobusiness, Marketing, Business or a related field. 10+ years of experience in agriculture—preferably seeds/oilseeds, product management, agronomy, technical marketing, licensing, portfolio management, Research interface or commercial crop leadership. Strong knowledge of sunflower and/or winter oilseed rape production systems; licensing experience and familiarity with crops such as corn, soybean or cotton are advantages. Ability to interpret product performance, trial results, field observations and stakeholder feedback and translate them into clear commercial, agronomic and partner recommendations. Knowledge of life-cycle management, positioning, advancement, launch planning, licensing readiness, field deployment, seed production, supply constraints and registration/FTO. Fluent written and spoken English; experience across EMEA/APAC and with digital trial tools is preferred.

Leadership Competencies

Strong product, crop and licensing ownership and technical credibility with Research, Agronomy, Licensing, Sales and Country teams. Strategic portfolio mindset and the ability to simplify technical complexity into practical field and partner guidance. Customer, farmer, licensee and sales-team orientation; influencing without authority; data-driven decision-making; constructive challenge; clear communication, training and product storytelling; bias for clarity, action and business impact; ability to balance short-term execution with long-term portfolio health and manage channel complexity.

Success Metrics

Adopted oilseeds product positioning, value propositions, licensing readiness and agronomic guidance across priority countries and partners. Improved life-cycle, advancement, licensing and replacement decisions aligned with Research, market and partner needs and supply feasibility. Successful launches, increased licensing conversion, better trial data valorisation, greater sales/promoter/partner confidence, and stronger adoption of regional guidance with reduced portfolio complexity where appropriate. Clear technical documentation and stronger integration of product and agronomy inputs into portfolio, licensing and commercial execution.
