Amazon is looking for a business-focused Deployment Engineer to lead initial rollouts of advanced automation solutions and to produce robust documentation that enables scalable, global deployments across our fulfilment network. The ideal candidate has proven experience taking automation projects from concept to operational launch and strong technical troubleshooting skills.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full deployment lifecycle from planning through go-live, managing on-site activities during Alpha and Beta phases including installation, commissioning and validation.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders — align product, safety, deployment, quality, vendors and site teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Convert initial deployment complexity into scalable, standardized procedures by creating and improving comprehensive documentation and deliverables for downstream teams.
• Evaluate and deliver large-scale automation technologies such as conveyance, sortation and robotics systems.
• Troubleshoot complex technical systems on-site and support vendor and contractor activities during implementations.

A day in the life

You will fully own first-time deployments: drafting detailed project schedules, coordinating with site teams and vendors, and leading all on-site implementation activities through go-live. Expect daily interactions with diverse functional teams across time zones, frequent meetings with internal stakeholders and vendors, and ongoing technical analysis of deployed technologies. The role is fast-paced and provides continuous learning across multiple technologies.

About the team

Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovation is a multidisciplinary team that combines engineering, problem solving and communication to deliver cutting-edge robotics solutions across Amazon’s fulfilment, transportation and delivery networks worldwide.

Location & travel

The role could be based in Barcelona, London, Luxembourg, Madrid or Milan. This posting lists a location in Vercelli, Italy. The position requires ~50% travel across Europe during peak deployment seasons, with occasional international travel.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related STEM field.
• 3+ years leading automation deployment projects from planning through commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with robotics, material handling systems or warehouse automation technologies.
• Proven experience creating technical documentation for field teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills and effective written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% during EU deployment seasons.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical systems on-site.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience deploying robotics in warehouse or fulfilment environments.
• Background managing vendor relationships and external contractors during technology implementations.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Project management certification (PMP, Scrum, Agile) or related credentials.
• Experience with Amazon Robotics or similar warehouse automation platforms and experience training field teams on new technologies.
