Entry-level management role focused on supporting the daily operations of Housekeeping and Laundry. The position collaborates with staff to ensure guestrooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained, carries out inspections and enforces corrective actions, and helps preserve guest and employee satisfaction while contributing to budgetary control.

Core responsibilities

  • Maintain Housekeeping operations and budgets: Keep current with OSHA regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Lost & found and room assignment coordination: Oversee lost and found procedures and obtain lists of rooms requiring immediate cleaning or likely check-outs to prepare work assignments.
  • Inventory and supplies management: Monitor stock levels to guarantee adequate supplies, manage linen inventory and guest supplies, and assist with ordering when needed.
  • Communication and coordination: Ensure guest room status is relayed promptly to the Front Desk and collaborate with Engineering on maintenance needs.
  • Supervision and inspections: Support or supervise the inspection program for guestrooms and public spaces; supervise Housekeeping in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
  • Loss prevention and uniforms/equipment: Follow loss prevention procedures and ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
  • Service performance and guest relations: Observe service behaviours, give feedback to staff, handle guest problems and complaints (escalating to supervisors as necessary), and review guest feedback to improve satisfaction.

Candidate profile

  • Education & experience: High school diploma or GED plus 1 year of housekeeping or related professional experience; OR a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field (no work experience required with the degree).
  • Language: English proficiency required.
