Experimental is known for pioneering cocktail bar culture since 2007 and has expanded into boutique hotels and bars across Europe and beyond. Each property combines design, creativity and high standards of service.

About Experimental Roma

Opening in mid-2026 on Via Ludovisi near Via Veneto, Experimental Roma will occupy a converted bank building redesigned by Rodolphe Parente. The hotel will offer 82 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a rooftop with a suspended pool and sweeping views of Rome.

Role overview

The Pastry Head Chef is charged with ensuring smooth service operations, creating a motivating and supportive environment for the team, and delivering memorable pastry experiences to guests.

Key responsibilities

  • Research & Development: Support the Head Chef in tasting and developing new desserts and in refreshing and designing menus that meet group standards.
  • Suppliers: Ensure desserts meet quality and quantity expectations, verify delivery notes and invoices, and alert the Head Chef when equipment needs purchasing or repair.
  • HACCP & Safety: Comply with nutrition, hygiene and workplace safety regulations and respect the personal hygiene and uniform standards required by management.
  • Recruitment & Team Building: Lead and train your team, demonstrate techniques, support professional development, maintain a positive and professional attitude, and participate in briefings and meetings.
  • Service: Guarantee the quality of all pastry items leaving the kitchen, promote respectful interactions between kitchen and front-of-house colleagues, and ensure proper care of equipment and professional attire.

Profile

You should hold a qualification in pastry arts and have at least one substantial experience in a similar role, ideally within a luxury environment. You are a natural motivator and patient mentor who enjoys sharing knowledge. Strong abilities in cost control, data analysis and productivity optimisation are expected. The ideal candidate is autonomous, adaptable, highly organised, initiative-driven and deeply committed to hospitality and guest service.

Requisiti

Diploma in pastry arts and at least one significant experience in a similar role (preferably in a luxury property). Strong leadership and training skills, proficiency in cost control and data analysis, autonomy, organisational skills and a strong service orientation.
