About Casa Brera

Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Milan, sits near Teatro alla Scala and expresses the spirit of the Brera neighbourhood. The property features 101 rooms and 15 suites, including the Milanese Suite, and hosts the rooftop restaurant and bar Etereo with panoramic views. The hotel offers regional-inspired cuisine, breakfast service and the classic Milanese aperitivo experience.

Role purpose

The Beverage Expert reports to the F&B Manager and provides specialist and supervisory support to the beverage operation. The role focuses on execution, coordination and operational oversight, contributing technical expertise in wines, spirits and mixology to ensure product quality, consistency, cost control and alignment with brand standards.

Working conditions

Full-time position: 5 days per week with 2 days off. Estimated start date: August 2026.

Core responsibilities

  • Develop and update cocktail and wine lists (seasonal and signature) in line with concept and brand guidelines.
  • Apply and monitor standard recipes and drink specifications to guarantee consistent quality and presentation.
  • Assist in monitoring beverage cost per item, report variances and suggest corrective actions.
  • Support daily beverage stock activities: stock checks, inventory tracking and rotation under management direction.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends (no/low alcohol, sustainability, fermentations, innovative mixology) and propose improvements for management review.
  • Help implement approved sustainability measures related to waste reduction, ingredient use and packaging.
  • Prepare and serve beverages to guests following brand service standards.

Events, experiences and supplier coordination

  • Support the planning and execution of tastings, masterclasses and beverage-focused events with management and approved partners.
  • Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and brand representatives and act as a technical point of reference when required.
  • Contribute to beverage experiences (food & wine pairings, cocktail experiences, guided tastings) to increase guest engagement and perceived value.
  • Support brand storytelling at events and during service through product knowledge and guest interaction.

Service supervision, training and quality control

  • Provide on-the-job coaching to bar and service staff on beverage service techniques, wine/spirits/cocktail knowledge, product storytelling, guest communication and upselling.
  • Act as a technical reference on the floor during key services and help ensure adherence to service standards.
  • Support application and enforcement of SOPs related to beverage service; monitor recipe compliance, portion control and presentation, escalating recurring issues to management.

Other duties and standards

  • Comply with hygiene, safety and F&B service regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information and follow company policies and codes of conduct.
  • Support the F&B department and hotel operations as needed.
