Location: Rome, Latium, Italy • Job type: Full-time, Permanent • Collective Labour Agreement: Food Industry (CNEL Code E012) • Salary range: €51,200 – €70,400 gross per year

As part of a global organisation, you will join Unilever Food Solutions Italy and have the chance to influence commercial outcomes while being eligible for the annual bonus plan and the Annual Shares Plan in line with company policy. You will report to the UFS Head of Country and be a core member of the UFS leadership team, ensuring alignment between Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Development.

Job purpose

The Commercial Operations Manager leads the translation of strategy into disciplined commercial execution to deliver profitable growth across channels and customers. The role coordinates end-to-end sales planning, forecasting, pricing and mix strategy, trade investment governance, promotional effectiveness, customer planning and performance management, enabling the PUSH agenda and supporting deployment of the PULL growth model.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the annual commercial planning process and establish the sales execution framework.
  • Own S&OP and forecasting to align demand, supply and commercial priorities.
  • Drive Net Revenue Management across pricing, portfolio transformation, mix management, promotion optimisation and trade investment governance.
  • Develop and implement customer and channel strategies that maximise profitable growth and ROI.
  • Use sell-out insights to inform customer plans, improve promotions and sustain profitable growth.
  • Lead commercial performance reviews to identify opportunities, promote ownership and ensure accountability for results.
  • Enable the sales organisation with advanced analytics, dashboards, insights and decision-support tools.
  • Govern commercial investments to secure disciplined execution and optimal resource allocation.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment for flawless execution of business priorities and support innovation and renovation programmes through strong commercial activation.
  • Build capabilities and processes to enhance commercial effectiveness, route-to-market performance and customer profitability.

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Trade Marketing Investment (TMI) within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience in forecasting, commercial planning and execution.
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical skills, including Power BI and Microsoft Excel; ability to turn data into route-to-market recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and manage customer relationships.
  • Interest in the Food industry and a results-oriented, collaborative, inclusive mindset.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Foods, Beverages or Out-of-Home channels.
  • Exposure to sales or distribution channels.
  • Ability to use AI tools or analytical programming.
  • International education or professional experience.
  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field.

Additional information

Requisiti

Minimum 5 years in NRM and TMI within FMCG; proven forecasting and commercial planning experience; strong analytical skills (Power BI, Excel); leadership and stakeholder management; interest in Food industry; fluency in Italian and English.
