Role purpose: As a key leader within Unilever Food Solutions Italy, the Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for converting business strategy into disciplined commercial execution to deliver profitable growth across channels and customers. The role reports directly to the UFS Head of Country and is part of the UFS leadership team, ensuring alignment between Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Development.
Main responsibilities include:
- Leading the annual commercial planning process and the sales execution framework.
- Owning the S&OP and forecasting process to align demand, supply and commercial priorities.
- Driving Net Revenue Management across pricing, portfolio transformation, active mix management, promotional optimisation and trade investment governance.
- Developing and implementing customer and channel strategies to maximise profitable growth and ROI.
- Using sell-out insights to shape customer strategies, optimise promotions and grow sustainable profitability.
- Leading commercial performance reviews to identify opportunities, ensure ownership and accountability for results.
- Enabling the sales organisation via advanced analytics, performance dashboards and decision-support tools.
- Governing commercial investments to secure disciplined execution and optimal resource allocation.
- Driving cross-functional alignment to guarantee flawless execution of priorities and accelerate growth.
- Supporting innovation and renovation programmes through strong commercial activation and execution excellence.
- Building capabilities and processes to improve commercial effectiveness, route-to-market performance and customer profitability.
Key requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Trade Marketing Investment (TMI) within the FMCG industry.
- Proven experience in forecasting, commercial planning and execution.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills (Power BI, Microsoft Excel) and the ability to turn data into actionable route-to-market recommendations.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder influence skills, able to collaborate with diverse teams and customers.
- Interest in the food industry and a results-oriented, inclusive approach.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
Preferred qualifications include experience in Foods, Beverages or Out of Home channels; exposure to sales or distribution channels; ability to use AI or analytical programming; international study or work experience; and a degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field.
Additional information: The position is Full-time – Permanent. Limited travel to customers is expected. The compensation package will be defined based on candidate experience, skills and seniority and is aligned with internal equity principles. Salary Range: €51,200 – €70,400 gross per year.
