About the role: We are looking for a Quality System – Product Development Manager to own the governance, deployment and ongoing improvement of product development quality processes across the organization. The role ensures engineering and development activities comply with corporate Quality System rules, automotive standards, customer expectations and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate pairs deep experience in automotive product development with managerial skills, structured problem solving, risk-based thinking and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Define, maintain and enhance product development Quality System processes, procedures and governance, aligned to corporate standards and automotive requirements such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA and ASPICE where relevant.
- Ensure effective process deployment across Product Development by specifying ownership, roles, responsibilities, milestones, deliverables and escalation paths.
- Promote structured quality planning and risk management across the product lifecycle using methodologies like APQP, Design Reviews, DFMEA, lessons learned, maturity assessments and quality gates.
- Define and track process performance indicators, detect systemic gaps and priorities for improvement, and report quality system performance to senior stakeholders with clear recommendations and action plans.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Customer Service and other functions to guarantee end-to-end consistency of product development quality practices.
- Lead, coach and develop team members or contributors involved in Quality System activities, fostering accountability, collaboration and a continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications and expertise required:
- Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field.
- Significant experience in automotive product development, quality, engineering processes or program quality management, ideally in complex multinational environments.
- Strong familiarity with automotive quality standards, process frameworks and core tools including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, PPAP logic and ASPICE principles, and customer-specific requirements where applicable.
- Proven managerial leadership and influencing skills, able to align senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams and technical experts on common quality objectives.
- Analytical mindset, structured problem solving, decisive prioritization and ability to convert process issues into actionable plans.
- Experience defining KPIs, preparing management reporting and driving continuous improvement from data and lessons learned.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with collaboration and dashboarding tools is an advantage.
- Mandatory: fluent Italian and English.

- Grade: 1° gruppo professionale.
- Salary range: €58,650 – €69,000 per anno; variable payment as per CCSL.

Requisiti
Degree in Engineering or equivalent; significant experience in automotive product development/quality or program quality management (preferably multinational); strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, ASPICE; managerial leadership and stakeholder influencing; analytical and structured problem-solving skills; experience defining KPIs and management reporting; fluent Italian and English.
