Position overview

We are hiring a Senior Operation Analyst to join the Operations function and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The role supports process analysis, the strengthening of operational governance and the implementation of cross-functional strategic initiatives, including continuous improvement and M&A integration projects. Success in this role requires excellent analytical skills, a data-driven mindset, strong problem-solving abilities and effective collaboration with stakeholders across multiple functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Operational governance & process excellence: analyze and map current processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and risks; support the design and rollout of governance frameworks, standardize processes, procedures and KPIs; monitor performance via dashboards and management reporting; analyze service levels, productivity, profitability and cost efficiency; support vendor governance through cost, SLA and supplier performance analysis; provide quantitative and qualitative insights for strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
  • M&A integration & business analytics: support operational due diligence for mergers and acquisitions; collect and analyze operational data to identify gaps and synergies; map processes, information systems and KPIs of acquired entities; contribute to defining the Target Operating Model and integration roadmaps; monitor milestones, risks and implementation progress; prepare comparative analyses between the current ("As Is") and future ("To Be") models.
  • Cross-functional projects: participate in strategic initiatives and task forces providing analytical support and project planning; develop business cases, forecasting models and operational impact assessments; collaborate with functional leaders to align processes with strategic objectives; prepare management presentations, executive summaries, KPI dashboards and Steering Committee/Board materials; support change management and organizational transformation.

Required qualifications

  • Degree in Management Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Operations, Business Analysis, Consulting or Process Improvement roles.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional projects.
  • Previous experience in multinational organisations or consulting firms is an advantage.

Technical skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in developing management dashboards and reporting; strong analytical and KPI management skills.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or similar).
  • Knowledge of Process Mapping and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics/Navision, SAP or equivalent) is a plus.

Reporting line

The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Contract and compensation

The position is governed by CCNL Terziario, Distribuzione e Servizi. Compensation range: €40,000–€48,000 per year + bonus. Location: Catania, CT, Italy.
