Position summary
Role: Welcome guests, identify party size and seat them at clean available tables.
Guide guests through the dining area and assist as needed. Prepare seating by pulling out chairs, placing a clean/current menu in front of each guest and ensuring place settings include a napkin, clean cutlery and any other items required by the standard setup. Rearrange tables and chairs when necessary and organize seating for groups with special needs.
Check that menus are current, clean, plentiful and wrinkle-free. Keep work areas tidy throughout the day by following a clean-as-you-go approach. Continuously monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service quality, guest safety and wellbeing.
Safety, conduct and teamwork
- Adhere to all company safety and security policies and report accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to management.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance and protect company assets and confidential information.
- Welcome and acknowledge every guest according to company standards and communicate clearly and professionally, including proper telephone etiquette.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, support team objectives and respond appropriately to coworkers' concerns.
Physical and additional duties
Be prepared to stand, sit or walk for extended periods during the shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- Related work experience: Not required.
- Supervisory experience: Not required.
- License/certification: None required.
