Terms of reference
Job title: Localisation Intern (Curricular Internship) — Code: SR-00-10113. Duty station: Remote. Starting date: 24/08/2026. Contract duration: 6 months. Reporting to: Localisation Advisor.
General context: INTERSOS views localisation as a continuation of many years of work alongside affected communities and links it to accountability and community participation. As set out in the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, the organisation intends to expand outreach to communities via structured community engagement and by building equitable partnerships with local NGOs, community-based organisations, grassroots groups and volunteer networks to strengthen emergency responses according to the principle of complementarity.
Purpose of the position: The intern will support the Localisation Advisor to promote a localisation approach across regions and missions and will contribute to developing tools and policies that facilitate this process.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
- Support preparation, translation and revision of tools related to partnership and capacity strengthening.
- Assist in the follow-up and monitoring of local partnerships globally.
- Support implementation and design of Localisation Strategic Initiatives.
- Analyse documentation on local partners’ governance and localisation best practices.
- Contribute to the development of documents, toolboxes and reports on localisation.
- Help organise advocacy events and initiatives on localisation.
- Assist with organisation of meetings, trainings and workshops and draft minutes.
- Perform any other tasks as required by the Localisation Advisor.
Required profile and experience:
- Degree in Political Science/International Cooperation, Social Studies or International Law.
- Previous internship or voluntary experience in a multicultural environment is an advantage.
- Good analytical skills and ability to compose complex texts; quick learner.
- Experience in desk review and research on humanitarian topics is an asset.
- Understanding of and interest in localisation principles is a strong plus.
- English and French are mandatory.
- Strong motivation for humanitarian work and alignment with INTERSOS mission and vision; flexibility.

Requisiti
Degree in Political Science/International Cooperation, Social Studies or International Law; prior internship/voluntary experience in multicultural settings preferred; strong analytical, research and drafting skills; English and French mandatory; strong motivation and flexibility.
