We are looking for a personable and experienced Operations Manager to join the senior management team and support the General Manager in overseeing the property's daily operations. The role focuses on building and motivating a strong team culture, maintaining brand standards and policies, and ensuring guests enjoy an excellent experience.

About Generator Venice: Located on the waterfront of the island of Giudecca, one vaporetto stop from Piazza San Marco, Generator Venice occupies a former warehouse that combines historic character with contemporary design. The hostel features mosaic floors, a glass chandelier and a stone fireplace. Public areas include both intimate and open-plan spaces centered around the bar and café, and rooms offer views over gardens, Lido, the Grand Canal or San Marco.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager across all departments and act as deputy in their absence.
  • Lead, develop and run a regular programme of creative, revenue-generating events and initiatives within the hostel.
  • Collaborate with GM and HQ to evolve and grow the property's F&B offerings for internal and external guests, ensuring everything is on-brand and drives revenue.
  • Contribute to creating and delivering the budgeted P&L.
  • Control payroll and manage costs by understanding market conditions, forecasts and business on the books to maximise departmental income.
  • Identify and explore new commercial revenue streams.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, all relevant local legislation and regulations, in particular health & safety, employment law and fire safety.
  • Ensure site-level HR support is provided and compliant.
  • Build relationships with local influencers and maintain a useful contacts database.
  • Be accountable for the property's atmosphere management and ensure social spaces reflect the Generator brand and culture.
  • Communicate effectively across the team so everyone understands company goals and is motivated to achieve them.

Person specification

  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Hands-on attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Commercially savvy with a track record of identifying business opportunities.
  • Eligibility to work in the EU is required to be considered for this role.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar hospitality role.
  • Knowledge of the local markets is preferred.

Requisiti

Eligible to work in the EU; at least 2 years' experience in a similar hospitality role; knowledge of local markets.
